The High Authority for Transparency in Public Life was established at the end of 2013 to guarantee the exemplarity of French public officials.

With the adoption of transparency laws at the end of 2013, France launched into a new phase of modernization of its public life. Twenty-five years after the first legislation, Parliament considered the need to implement a comprehensive strategy designed to meet the requirements of an open government and a modern democracy.
